Charles Muddle Ltd is a family run business based near Billingshurst, West Sussex. We operate from a 7 acre fully licenced premises, with our own weighbridge and transport facility to collect and deliver on your behalf. We run our own on site direct drive shredder – for the processing of light iron and end of life vehicles to generate foundry ready steal and non-ferrous metals for recycling. We lead the way in this field through best available techniques.

We have recently invested in a new Copex hydraulic press shear, this machine has a cutting force of 1300T to shear through heavy steel, for its onwards transmission to steel foundries. We are privileged to be the only scrap merchants in the UK currently with this technology.

Charles Muddle Ltd is fully certified, licensed and insured for all aspects of scrap metal processing and trading. We ensure compliance with current legislation. All of our duty of care records can be downloaded and printed from the bottom of this page.

As a long standing member of the British Metal Recycling Association (BMRA) we follow their internationally renowned code of conducts and best practice, you can rest assured that Charles Muddle Ltd is a professional and reliable company.

We have our own export trading company, Solar Metals Limited, established in 2008 by Stuart Muddle and Nigel Holland. By combining their vast knowledge of all aspects of the metals recycling industry. The company buys and recycles all grades of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal on an industrial scale.
